Nutrition Education May Help Prevent Breast Cancer Reoccurrence

Breast Cancer News:

In a new and very small study published in the journal Nutrition Education and Behavior, researchers show that breast cancer patients may benefit from intensive nutrition counseling during their recovery. The study followed a small group of breast cancer patients in Brazil, who were counseled about limiting consumption of red and processed meats, and advised to increase their fruit and vegetable intake. Although the results are very preliminary, researchers believe that these practices could help reduce the aggravating effects of chemotherapy and the risk of cancer recurrence.
