How to Apply for Community Grants
Thank you for your interest in the Susan G. Komen Central Georgia Community Grants Program. Komen Central Georgia’s Community Grants are selected through a highly competitive, peer-reviewed process. Komen Central Georgia is currently offering grants of up to $35,000 for innovative, non-duplicative projects that address breast health and/or breast cancer services for our 2017-2018 community grant cycle. Projects should target services, not otherwise available, to the medically underserved and uninsured populations of Baldwin, Crawford, Jones, Houston, Macon-Bibb, Monroe, Peach and/or Twiggs counties. Grants are available for up to one year.
To be eligible to apply for a Komen Central Georgia Community Grant, your organization must:
- Be a federally tax-exempt entity (non-profit organization, government agency, educational institution, or Native American tribe)
- Provide services in the specified Affiliate serve area
- Be a program specific to breast health and/or breast cancer services
All requests for scientific research should be directed to the National Susan G. Komen Award and Research Grant Program. More information on research funding is available at www.komen.org/grants.

All applications must be submitted online through the Komen Grants e-Management System (GeMS): https://affiliategrants.komen.org. Training on use of the GeMS system will occur at the grant workshop. The online grants application will open on December 13, 2016.
The grant application process is competitive. Whether or not an organization has received a grant in the past, funding in subsequent years is never guaranteed and depends upon the quality of this application, the quality of the applicant pool, and the funds available for distribution.
